DataWise HQ
File Explorer with Claude access. A place for everything your business knows — and an assistant that already knows where everything is. Set it up in one screen, then get on with the work.
The problem it solves
AI is only as useful as what it knows about you. Start a fresh conversation and you explain your business again — what you sell, where the payroll lives, how you file things. Every morning, from the beginning.
DataWise HQ fixes that with folders. A structure for the whole business, with a short brief written into every folder saying what belongs there and what matters about it. Open your assistant from any folder and it starts already briefed.
What you get in the first minute
Answer four questions and it builds the lot.
Seven groups, thirty folders
Company, Administration, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Dispatch and Archive — with Banking, GST & Tax, Payroll, Debtors, Stock and the rest underneath, numbered so new ones file themselves.
A brief in every folder
What belongs there, and what an assistant should know before working in it — including how long records must be kept and what never leaves the folder.
Rearrange it in Explorer
Rename, move, delete, add your own. There is no folder-editing screen and there never will be — press Refresh and the map catches up.
More than one business, one window
Bookkeepers, accountants and anyone running two companies out of one office: keep each business in its own folder side by side, and DataWise HQ opens them as tabs.
A contents page
Every business you keep, on one line each. Tick the ones you want open and they become the tabs along the top. Untick one and it is out of the way without being deleted.
A colour each
Pick any colour per business and it runs through that whole tab — so you can see at a glance which set of books you are looking at before you read a word.
Call them what you call them
The name comes from each business's own setup, and you can type a shorter one for the tab. "Utopia cafe (2000) Limited" is right on a report and wrong on a tab.
Adding a business is making a folder. There is no list to keep in step, nothing to register, and no per-company charge — because there is no charge.
Three screens per business
The map
Every folder in the business, grouped and foldable, with a button on each row that opens your assistant standing in it.
Your lists
A numbered worklist of things you want built — nothing gets built until you tick it approved — and a separate list of standing jobs that run: the Monday debtors chase, the month-end pack, the reorder check.
What can I ask?
The page to open when you do not know where to start. Real questions under each part of the business; click one and it opens already asked.
It works before you buy anything
DataWise HQ does not need a Connector, and it does not need a licence. The folders, the briefs, the lists and your assistant all work on a bare PC.
- With a Connector, the questions about money start working too — who owes what, how this year compares to last, what is sitting on the shelf. It finds your data folder on its own.
- Without one, those questions sit there greyed, saying what they would answer. No guessing, and nothing pretends to know figures it cannot see.
- Everything stays in folders you chose — your HQ, your applications, your data. Back up those three and a new computer is a restore, not a rebuild.
It is the same discipline we run DataWise on. This is our own head office, generalised — the structure, the lists and the house rules we learned the hard way, handed over already learned.
One thing you will need
DataWise HQ is free, and the assistant it opens is not ours — it is Claude Code, from Anthropic, and it needs a paid Claude plan. The free tier does not include it.
- Without a Claude plan you still get the folder structure, the briefs, your worklist and your standing jobs. They are yours and they work. What you cannot do is ask anything.
- With one — Pro or above, or Team if the business is buying for several people — every Ask button on every folder opens an assistant that already knows where it is standing.
- You buy it from Anthropic, not from us. We take nothing for it and we cannot bundle it. Their pricing page has the current plans.
Take it. It is free.
No licence, no card, no trial to run out. Add a Connector later if you want the money questions answered too.
